Our story · How it started
Eva and Jan Meenhorst are mother and son, living in Marbella. They have travelled extensively. During one of their latest trips, they ‘bumped upon’ a bar at sea. This was in Fiji. Since there was no such thing in Marbella or anywhere else in Spain, they saw an opportunity. Summer 2023 marks the start of their new adventure.
The team
Eva
Entrepreneur by choice, lawyer by education and artist by hobby, Eva comes from a Dutch hostelry family. She has lived and worked in Amsterdam, Cairo, Istanbul and the UK.
In 2017 Eva has travelled the world for a year with her family. Currently, they are living in Marbella. Besides renting out properties in the area, she recently started Barcobar; a bar at sea. Eva is a mother of four and speaks five languages.
The team
Jan
Eva’s second son Jan is your bartender and a semi-professional Formula 1 Twitch streamer. Video editing and music are his hobbies.
Jan’s working experience amongst others is in the Dutch hostelry services. He’s a native speaker of English and Dutch and will be fluent in Spanish soon:-)
